Lie-la-lie (lac)
May 13, 2007
Today, we went over to Highland Park for perusal of Rochester’s Lilac Festival. Our idyllic plans for a picnic were somewhat foiled by a shy sun, unwarm temperatures, and a bugger of a breeze. We finished lunch in the car.
Fortunately for us, the sun came out and it became rather pleasant. So we wandered amongst the lilacs, flowers, and people. Eventually, we found a good basking spot which was surrounded by lilacs for maximum waftage.
The people watching part was fun too. Some of the highlights:
–A beagle that was too tired to walk being carried by its owner
–An obnoxious scooter gang who loudly talked about their disdain for PETA while proclaiming their joy at getting things with the word Jesus on them
–A group of about 10 college-aged folk who randomly sat down and played a game of Duck, Duck, Goose in front of us
–A mother valiantly pulling her toddler up the hill in a wagon while the dad marched on unencumbered. Happy early Mother’s Day!
–Lots of cute babies
