4/52: And then she saved me

January 28, 2014

So I’ve been in the blogging doldrums as of late, but then Alice and I had this conversation:

Her: Daddy can you wash my hands and face? If you do I’ll promise never to ask you again in my whole lifetime.

Me: Really? In your whole lifetime? That’s an awfully long time. So you mean you will never ask me again?

Her: Actually, not never again.

Me: Wait, what? You just told me you wouldn’t ask me again in your whole lifetime.

Her: I forgot how long I was going to be around for.

We had just been talking about being unpredictable, and she certainly brought it with that salvo. And it should be noted that I did take the deal. We just negotiated a new deadline—next Christmas. Blog posts are legal documents, right?

Glad you’re back. Was about to post a cryptic “4/52” on your fb.

  3. so glad that girlie realized she’s going to be sticking around for a long time – that deal could have made for some muddy paws & whiskers!
