39/52: Fall Guy

November 2, 2014

This is my son, whom I love. His mind is as active as his little legs, though both regions take on more than they can handle sometimes. When I picture his toothless smile, a beam of light pierces the puffiest of rainclouds. When he laughs, joyful thunderstorms become part of the forecast. He sits and listens to books of his choosing, often with minimal wiggling. His mouth is a shotgun, spewing out buckshot and occasionally hitting the intended targets. Moo. Bink. Please. Bye bye. Pumpkin. Basically bullseyes. Percussive pellets through a daddy’s heart.
